Back to School, Tigers (Yes… Really This Time.)
Coweta Public Schools will be open for in-person learning on Friday, January 30th — and yes, this one is for real.
We want to sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience caused by yesterday’s change in status. We know that shifts like that affect families, schedules, and plans, and we truly appreciate your patience as we worked through rapidly changing weather and safety conditions.
Oklahoma weather keeps us on our toes, but our priority is always making the best decision we can with the information available at the time — and keeping our students and staff safe.
The good news: our buildings are warm, buses are ready, and classrooms are set. We’re excited to welcome our Tigers back to campus and get back to learning together.
See you Friday. For real. 🐯

IMPORTANT: Switch to Distance Learning for Thu 1/29
I regret to inform you that we have changed our decision and will move to virtual learning tomorrow Jan 29th instead of meeting in person.
This decision was made after careful consideration of current safety concerns. Black ice is already forming in our parking lots and in several neighborhoods, and potential staffing challenges. These factors create safety issues, including insufficient supervision in some schools.
I understand this change may cause a significant burden for some of you, and I am truly sorry for the inconvenience. Our priority is the safety of our students and staff. We are hopeful that another day of above-freezing temperatures will improve conditions so everyone can safely travel to and around our sites.
INCLEMENT WEATHER UPDATE
While weather and road conditions are beginning to improve, continued frigid temperatures are still creating conditions that warrant additional caution. As a result, Coweta Public Schools will shift to distance learning on Wednesday, January 28.
Wednesday will count as an instructional day. Students are encouraged to check in with their teacher when possible and complete any assigned work throughout the day.
Please continue to monitor the district website at https://www.cowetaps.org and our official social media channels for updated information regarding the rest of the week.

INCLEMENT WEATHER UPDATE
Parents and Families,
Due to continued winter weather conditions, Coweta Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 27. Lingering snow and frigid temperatures continue to impact travel and overall safety in our area.
Tuesday will be a snow day and will not be a distance learning day.
Please continue to monitor the district website at https://www.cowetaps.org and our official social media channels for updated information regarding the rest of the week.

Santa Claus Coming to Coweta Thanks to Love’s Bottling
Love’s Bottling is bringing some holiday cheer to Coweta this season by sponsoring a special visit from Santa Claus. Families can stop by T-Johnny’s on December 10th from 3–5 p.m. to meet Santa, snap a photo, and share Christmas wishes.
This hometown visit gives Coweta families a convenient, close-to-home way to enjoy the magic of the season—no long lines, no long drives, just a warm community moment right here where we live.
Ho ho ho—see you there!

Extended Enrollment: Protect Your Student’s Device With Optional Insurance
Coweta Public Schools wants to make sure every family has the chance to protect their student’s Chromebook or Chrome Tablet. Our device insurance partner has extended the enrollment window through the end of December, giving families a little more time to sign up—but we encourage you not to wait.
Accidents and loss can happen unexpectedly, and having coverage in place brings real peace of mind. So far, about 367 families have enrolled, and we want to ensure all parents and guardians are aware of this option before the deadline arrives.
Coverage Options
$25 – Covers the student’s device only (any model)
$30 – Covers both the device and the charger
Enrollment is handled directly through School Device Coverage, and no money should be brought to the school:
https://schooldevicecoverage.com/
If you don’t know your student’s device serial number, simply enter “TBD.”
Taking a few minutes to enroll now can help avoid unexpected repair or replacement costs later. With the enrollment period ending in December, we encourage families to act soon.
Thank you for supporting your student’s learning tools and helping us keep devices ready for daily use.

Dear Coweta Families,
This is a reminder message about our Parent/Family Communication Survey and an update on the new location of our Parent Engagement Meeting.
We want to hear from you about your communication preferences and your awareness of district policies, programs, and initiatives related to student safety. We are asking for your input in our Parent/Family Communication Survey. You can access the survey here. The survey will close at 8:00AM on Monday, November 17.
On Tuesday, November 18th, at 6:00 p.m., the district will hold a Parent Engagement meeting to review the survey data. During this meeting, we will ask families to review the survey data and ensure that the priorities are aligned with your input. We will also review any costs associated with the priorities so we can plan our budget accordingly.
This event is only for parents/guardians of current Coweta Public School students and the facilitators. If you are interested in participating in the Parent Engagement event, please complete this form so we can plan accordingly.
* Please note we are moving the location of the meeting. The new location of the meeting allows us to respect the privacy needs of the subject matter related to our students and their families. This is not an open meeting or governing meeting. No voting will take place. The private meeting is designed to listen to parent feedback and ensure the alignment of priorities to help us move forward.
